With pleasure, ANffAS Parma will host Dr.Lorenzo Bertani for the presentation of his first novel.

It will be followed by a buffet prepared by ANffAS Parma cooking workshop.
After a journey to Iran, a Country which is very different from Italy for history and traditions, one’s mind would need to rest and metabolise what it has seen and experienced. For the main character, instead, it is already time to leave again, this time in train towards Gent, in Belgium. The event to which he has to attend is the funeral of a woman to whom all were emotionally attached, a woman who has been the centre of a numerous, solid family for a long time. Journal of a Conquest narrates a ‘long journey’ in which questions and profound reflections about one’s own disability, dignity, faith, emotional relationships take form. An apparently nostalgic journey which slowly becomes an occasion to restart one’s own existence, among hope, friendship, loveand conquests
Journal of a conquest is the first novel of Lorenzo Bertani, born in 1962 in Padua, where he still lives. During his thirty one years of career in Public Healthcare, he achieved a master’s degree in Science of Techno-Diagnostic Healthcare Professions, a Master in Bioethics and a Degree in Existential Counselling centred on helping relationships. He travelled extensively for the pleasure of knowing, exploring and growing as a person. Retired because of health reasons, he has long been collaborating with national and international magazines, publishing articles on Bioethics even recently.
