S.A.I.? COUNTER

The «Sportello Accoglienza e Informazione» (Welcoming and Information Counter) in its new denomination is basically a free SERVICE available to all citizens, irrespective of ANffAS membership. It is a place of listening, WELCOMING, assistance, support and INFORMATION for people with and without disability, but also for their parents, family members, operators and reference organisations, in addition to local public Bodies.

S.A.I.?, like all others associative activities, makes reference to the established paradigms of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and it is focused on accessibility, participation, defence of human rights and dignity, fighting all forms of discrimination, prejudice and exclusion, valorising disability as part of human diversity.

S.A.I.? is based on a many-level network thanks to which, depending on requests complexity, ANffAS Parma relies on ANffAS Emilia-Romagna Region’ e National ANffAS’s networks.

S.A.I.’s Five Elements?

• Free: S.A.I.? is free for all customers;
• Universality: S.A.I.? is open to everybody, regardless of ANffAs membership;
• Personalisation: S.A.I.? offers a personalised service to all its customers;
• Service quality: S.A.I.? is based upon an organised system and its collaborators’ competence and expertise;
• Empowerment: S.A.I.? helps people to acquire awareness of their rights in addition to abilities needed to exercise them so as to have a real impact on their own life context.

WHY CONTACT THE COUNTER?

S.A.I.? counter is a space offered to people who have the need of asking for information, such as:

• Ascertain civil disability or handicap
• Tax and work benefits for the person with disability and their family
• Network of health and social services
• School inclusion
• Work inclusion
• Mobility and accessibility
• Legal protection (interdiction and support administrator)

HOW TO ACCESS

The person with disability, their family, tutor or support administrator need to contact the Counter to have the first indications and organise an appointment. During the first interview, information will be asked about the general situation of the recipient and any difficulty they have, so as to be able to derive the most suitable solutions for the person concerned in both the short and long term.
